Attitudes and behaviourEnvironmental education is not simply about supplying people with information. If botanic gardens are going to get the conservation message across then they need to encourage a change in attitudes and behaviours. Everyone interprets the world from within a particular framework of perception and thought. Age, class, creed, culture, ethnicity, gender, geographical context, ideology, language, nationality and race all shape personal perspectives. Education programmes can provide opportunities in which students can safely examine their held attitudes and behaviour.
