2010/2011 BGCI/Fairchild Challenge Global Option winner announced!
Hundreds of young people across the US participated in the 2010/2011 Fairchild Challenge/BGCI Global Option, to research the importance of plant diversity and create a design embodying Target 14 of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC). The students also had to come up with a tagline or catchphrase that would capture young people's imagination about the importance of plants and why we must conserve them.
We are delighted to announce that the winner of this year's Global Option is Deanna Hobson from Twin Valley High School. Posters of Deanna's design will be printed and distributed with the latest issue of Roots 8:1.
We'll be back with another BGCI/Fairchild Challenge Global Option soon so keep an eye out for further details!
