World Botanic Gardens Exhibition in Beijing, China from 8 July to 8 September 2008
Visitors and participants at this year's Olympic Games in Beijing will be able to visit the novel World Botanic Gardens Exhibition to find out more about "Homes for plants, Gardens for humans".
The purpose of the exhibition is to show people from around the world the beauty and value of plant diversity and the ongoing efforts of over 80 botanic gardens from more than 25 countries to preserve our natural plant heritage.
Participating botanic gardens have provided the photographs and text used in the exhibition posters, as well as interactive activities, videos, rare plant displays, and other publicity materials. All in English.
This is the culmination of several months of hard work and planning by the organizers: the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Botanic Gardens Popular Network; Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Committee; and Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI).
The exhibition will be displayed at the Science and Technology Park near the Olympic Village, Beijing, China from 8 July to 8 September 2008.
Visitors of all ages are welcome and admission is free.
