The court of Dundee University court has pledged to keep its botanic garden open, ending months of speculation about its long-term future.

However, the university will pay £75,000 a year less towards the upkeep of the garden.

To compensate, the botanic garden will have to find a way to increase visitor numbers, increase its commercial income from retail outlets and introduce car parking charges.
