Education and Public Awareness

Lack of public concern for plant conservation presents a major challenge for BGCI. We are therefore working with our members to increase their capacity to carry out effective public awareness and education programmes.

  • We run workshops and training courses for botanic garden educators
  • We are aiming to create an on-line distance learning resource and increase the range of education materials available in different languages.
  • We also directly support a diverse range of education programmes in botanic gardens around the world.
