Comprehensive Information on Threatened Plants

In order for conservation to be effective, it is essential to have reliable information from which to make decisions. Some of BGCI's current activities towards this goal are presented here.

  • In order to improve our understanding of which plants are under threat, BGCI is supporting Red Listing on both a species and regional basis.
  • Our database of botanic garden plant collections (PlantSearch) provides a direct link to global, regional and national lists of threatened species and we are working to further develop the utility of this database, including developing our image library of threatened plants.
